New Train Station for Troy/Birmingham Gaining Steam
Troy Chamber of Commerce President Michele Hodges is trying to generate public interest in the project. Congress awarded $1.3 million. The two cities now have about half of the $7 million they need to complete it. Amtrak stops twice daily. They hope to add SMART bus, taxi and airport shuttle services. They need to secure all the money by June or the land owner will take the property back.
